Colliers successful with offices for Mercedes-Benz Czech Republic

Colliers has won the award for best interior design for its stellar modern offices for Mercedes-Benz Czech Republic, which it developed in the Anděl 17 building in Prague 5. The main players in the project received the award at ThePrime Real Estate Gala, which annually recognises outstanding achievements in the Czech property development and real estate market. This year, the expert jury placed particular emphasis on aspects related to the construction of the future, such as flexibility, modern materials, ergonomics and functionality, and ESG compliance. In the case of office design, ergonomics and functionality also played an important role. The quality of the implementation team also played an important role.

A stellar automotive design concept

The main goal of the project was to create representative modern offices for Mercedes-Benz Czech Republic that would reflect the identity of this premium brand and at the same time provide employees with modern functional facilities supporting the new trends of hybrid work and collaborative corporate culture. Colliers designers, led by architect Kateřina Štenclová, prepared a concept based on the automotive interior design of the Mercedes Group itself. Elegant shapes resonate with luxurious elements and modern materials, just as they do in Mercedes Benz cars.

The hi-tech environment is then softened by the abundant use of greenery, including stabilised moss on the walls and wooden slats. "The lighting concept was very important. We played with LED strip lights on the ceilings and walls, and highlighted some selected areas with hanging design lights. We also createdPart of the design is a lacobel lacobel backlit wall with cutouts of Mercedes stars that can change the intensity or colour of the light," describes architect Katerina Stenclova.

The office spaces are structured in line with the latest work environment trends. In addition to the work area itself, where employees can choose to work at height-adjustable desks, cosy cubicles, have the now popular phone booths or meet and work in more informal high tables with stools and bar tables, there are also meeting rooms for hybrid work and facilities for relaxation and informal meetings.

Teamwork guarantees success

"This successful project is an example of perfect cooperation between several Colliers departments. In addition to finding a suitable space and negotiating the terms of the lease, Colliers experts designed and managed the entire implementation, all in just six months. The credit for the perfect result goes especially to the trio of colleagues, Nikola Šašková, Kateřina Štenclová and David Arneil," says Jana Vlková, Director of Workplace Advisory and Office Agency at Colliers. Thanks also go to the team of property manager Whitestar Real Estate, general contractor MTMCO, joinery supplier PBW Interiors and Mercedes Benz Czech Republic itself for their excellent cooperation.
